Dreams Never End : Glaiza's Night

Living her dream

Last night was something to remember for actress and musician GLAIZA DE CASTRO. Her first solo concert entitled Dreams Never End was a huge success. It was reportedly sold out weeks before the show and by seeing the turn out at the Music Museum, it was indeed very well attended by her legions of adoring supporters, family, and friends. She has been preparing for this for a time now, having been able to sit down with her about a month and a half ago for Drinks with Denise, she told me about how excited and at the same time nervous she is for this show but she's more beaming with joy that finally, she is going to do this! Seeing her perform song after song last night was really fun, I especially loved her song selections, I mentioned that to her this morning via text. When she sang "Ready To Go" by Republica, I knew that she was in-charge of her setlist although she told me that of course, there was still some sort of compromise in there somewhere, but hearing her cover songs from Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins, Eurythmics, and songs that I would rarely hear sung by a mainstream personality was very enjoyable for me. She was also backed up by a really good band, which included guitarist extraordinaire Noel Mendez.
It's such a breath of fresh air to see such a talented person sincerely enjoying what she's doing, and I saw that last night on Glaiza. I hope that there will be more entertainers / people like her, not afraid to make mistakes, honest, and hellbent to make their dreams into reality. Cheers to you, Galurs!

Funny moment when Cooky heard everyone singing along with "Paglisan," she was surprised and asked the crowd "alam nyo?!"
